I started this because I got fooled.

Not once. Three times in one week. A photo of a senator, a video of a celebrity, and a "breaking news" image that turned out to be six months old and made in someone's basement. I shared two of them before I figured it out.

I've spent 20 years in journalism. I know how photos get manipulated. And these still got me.

So I started looking into it every morning finding the biggest fake people were sharing, figuring out exactly what gave it away, and writing it up in plain English.
